SYNOPSIS
Mary Beth was paralyzed under a tidal wave of grief and depression after the untimely death of her best friend, Allison. But when Mary Beth and another close friend, Alia, discover Allison’s very real, yet heartbreaking, diary footage of her breast cancer journey, it leads them, with 25 of Allison’s devoted friends, to Ireland to scatter her ashes at the Cliffs of Moher. Upon returning home, they realize their grief had not subsided, not one bit. Together, Mary Beth and Alia embark on an odyssey back to Ireland with a death midwife/psychologist, Dr. Staci, and unwittingly begin unraveling answers to the complexities of their sorrow to find a sense of hope.
Born and raised in Belfast, Gareth Dunlop enters the musical landscape as one of the most talked about young artists from Northern Ireland. The poetic vulnerability in his songs and soulful voice has led to Gareth’s music being featured in numerous television shows, commercials and films.
As a songwriter, Gareth’s songs have been recorded by a surprisingly diverse group of artists ranging from rap superstar, T.I. to a cut on the new album by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Gareth now splits his time between Belfast and Nashville writing and performing. Over the years, he has opened for a wide range of artists including Van Morrison, The Stereophonics, Snow Patrol, James Morrison and more.
Gareth joined us on our journey in Ireland, sharing his soulful music as we celebrated our friend Allison. His song, Dwell in my Soul will be featured in A Hidden Star.
Gareth's music is available on ITunes and Spotify.
SHEL brings together sisters Eva, Hannah, Sara and Liza Holbrook to create magic on the violin, mandolin, piano and drums. Their song, "Send My Kiss" is featured in A Hidden Star's teaser and beautifully captures the film's emotion. When the filmmakers heard this song, they knew it was essential for their film, but more importantly they knew this music was what they needed to hear at the Cliffs of Moher when saying goodbye to their friend.
"Send My Kiss" is available on iTunes and Spotify
